メモ
Built 1949–1951; formal groundbreaking 17 December 1949. Associate architects: Pace Associates and Holsman, Holsman, Klekamp and Taylor. Original lighting design: Richard Kelly. Initially 271 apartments; 238 after later unit combinations. The complex has 26 stories above grade and 2 basement levels. Reported original project cost was USD 5–6 million; the budget field uses the USD 5.5 million midpoint estimate. Metrics are approximate: site area converts the documented 33,804 sq ft lot; footprint derives from two 107 × 65 ft tower plates; GFA of about 40,000 m² includes an estimate for the two near-full-site basement levels. Chicago Landmark, designated 29 April 1998; National Register of Historic Places, listed 28 August 1980 (ref. 80001344).
